Be sure to untie your self-tie bow tie when not in use.
Do not pull your self-tie bow tie when untying to avoid overstretching or causing it to snag.
Do not iron or press your self-tie bow tie unless it’s very necessary. Should you need to iron it, make sure that the iron is on the right setting “Silk”; if this setting is not provided, make sure that the iron is set to a very low temperature. Iron the tie under a thin sheet of cloth or clean white paper to avoid iron lines/markings on the tie.
Do not wash or soak your bow tie if stained. Dab with a damp cloth, rub on the stain gently in a circular motion. If heavily stained, use a tie stain remover or ask the nearest laundry shop for available bow tie cleaning methods that they have. Never use bleach or laundry detergent.
Should your bow tie need cleaning, have it dry cleaned.
