 Neckties are usually made out of delicate materials. Knowing this, you purchase as many as you can so as to avoid overusing, and hence lengthen the lifespan of the tie. You have your favorite pieces, those that you wear occasionally, those that are costly, and those that have sentimental value to you.
Ties are among your possessions that you hope to keep with you for many years. So what if your tie gets stained? What should you do to save the garment?
- Be careful with rubbing the affected area. Dip a clean white napkin on a carbonated drink, and then use this to wipe away the stain. Press gently so as not to damage the fabric, and to avoid enlarging of the stain. If this happens while you are at home, grab a hair blower and dry the stained area using this. Ensure to position the blow dryer not too close to the fabric so as not to further ruin it.
- Should you be in a commercial establishment, let us say a restaurant, the trick is to apply some salt on the stained area. Salt absorbs the excess grease on the garment. Let the salt stay on your tie for a few minutes so later it will be a lot easier to finally eliminate the stain.
- If salt would not work, wash your tie with your hand. Do not bleach, and do not use washing machine.
